You've no doubt seen Cameron Diaz straddling Tom Cruise on a motorcycle in the barrage of trailers for Knight and Day (in theaters now), and we must admit we'd enjoy that equation a lot more if Cruise was taken out of it. With that in mind, gaze upon all this engine-revving eye candy that's overheated our own engines and sent us to hog heaven.

Accidental Financial Optical Illusion

“This work was in relation to my coursework as business school. I had to give a note this illusion in my paper. See the attached graph and answer the question…What is the value of MBS market (bottom green area) in 2005 – is it less than 5000, or greater than 5000?
Most people would say that it is less than 5000 – reality is that it is more than 5000 – it’s an accident – I made the graph, and was having hard time to find why was excel giving me a wrong graph. I was plotting a figure of greater than 5000 and it was showing me less than 5000 and then i took a scale to see the exact value – and it was all right – it was more than 5000!“

A gadget is a small technological object (such as a device or an appliance) that has a particular function, but is often thought of as a novelty. Gadgets are invariably considered to be more unusually or cleverly designed than normal technological objects at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes also referred to as gizmos.

Beverage can designed to hold a single serving of a beverage

The early metal beverage can was made out of steel, similar to a tin can, and had no pull-tab. Instead, it was opened by a can piercer, a device resembling a bottle opener with a sharp point. The can was opened by punching two triangular holes in the lid — a large one for drinking, and a smaller one to admit air. This type of opener is sometimes referred to as a churchkey. As early as 1936, inventors were applying for patents on self-opening can designs, but the technology of the time made these inventions impractical.
The first all-aluminum cans, like their steel forebears, required use of a can opener. Mikola Kondakow of Thunder Bay, Ontario invented the pull tab version for bottles in 1956 [Canadian patent 476789]. Then, in 1962, Ermal Cleon Fraze of Dayton, Ohio, invented the similar integral rivet and pull-tab version (also known as rimple or ring pull), which had a ring attached at the rivet for pulling, and which would come off completely to be discarded. He received U.S. Patent No. 3,349,949 for his pull-top can design in 1963 and licensed his invention to Alcoa and Pittsburgh Brewing Company, the latter of which first introduced the design on Iron City Beer cans. The first soft drinks to be sold in all-aluminum cans were R.C. Cola and Diet-Rite Cola, both made by the Royal Crown Cola company, in 1964.
The pull-tabs, however, detached easily and were occasionally swallowed accidentally by users. The New England Journal of Medicine reported a case of one person inhaling a pull-tab that had broken off and dropped into the can. The design of the pull-tabs was addressed by Daniel F. Cudzik of Reynolds Metals, who in 1975 developed stay tabs (also called colon tabs). This design would prevent injuries and reduce roadside litter caused by removable tabs, and involves utilizing a scored lid with a pull-tab. The pull-tab can be leveraged to push the scored region into the can, opening up a hole. By the early 1980s, stay tabs had nearly completely replaced pull-tabs in much of the world. However, pull-tabs are still common in places such as China and the Middle East.

Chinese artist Li Wei's Optical Illusions

I really have no idea how Li Wei managed to capture these photos of himself. The closest thing that comes to my mind is Johan Lorbeer.Dangling horizontally out of a skyscraper, his hovering figure looks set to fall to his doom, but this artist 'jumper' hasn't just lost it all on a game of chance - this is performance art with a difference. Li Wei has previously produced series of self-portraits involving faces reflected in mirrors, and photographs of himself crashing into walls and sidewalks. His current work is a mixture of performance art and photography that creates illusions of a sometimes dangerous reality. I would really love if we could brainstorm on this 'installation', and maybe come to a decent conclusion.

Open a Beer Bottle with a piece of paper

This is not a magic or difficult trick to learn; but once you go through the entire procedure as shown in the instructional video then you will be able to use it to impress your families and friends on any occasion.
You’ve just spent the last 10 hours helping your buddy move into his new apartment or you’ve returned to your campsite after hiking in the summer heat all day long…and it’s time to reward yourself with a cold beer. You can practically taste the suds as you hold the bottle in your own hand. Only one problem: YOU DON’T HAVE A BOTTLE OPENER! Panic sets in as your buddy explains that his opener is buried inside one of the 50 boxes you just finished lugging up two flights of stairs, or you picture your opener at home sitting alone on the counter, a worthless tool in a beer-free landscape.

But all hope is not lost. Your mind has several simple and inventive ways to use everyday objects to crack off that bottle cap without breaking glass or ruining the dental work your parents paid dearly for. Most all of these items utilize a solid edge to work against the bottle’s cap and are closer at hand than you might even realize.

Car Stunt Ad (commercial) of Mountain Dew Can

Mountain Dew, stylized as Mtn Dew, is a soft drink manufactured and distributed by PepsiCo. Although its formula was invented in Knoxville, Tennessee, it was first marketed in Knoxville and Johnson City, TN through the 1940s. Then by Barney and Ally Hartman, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and finally across the United States by 1964.

As of 2007, behind only Coca-Cola Classic, Pepsi-Cola, and Diet Coke, Mountain Dew was the 4th best selling carbonated soft drink in the United States. Mountain Dew's Diet version ranked 9th in sales.

On October 15, 2008, Mountain Dew's official logo was redesigned to "Mtn Dew", from a PepsiCo rebranding of core products. In which, Mountain Dew also re-launched in the UK. Mountain Dew was originally released in the UK in 1996, then removed in 1998 due to low sales. The alternate flavors of Mountain Dew, "LiveWire" and "Code Red", continue to use their original designs.

How to make a Nuclear Reactor - video

A nuclear reactor is a device in which nuclear chain reactions are initiated, controlled, and sustained at a steady rate.

The most significant use of nuclear reactors is as an energy source for the generation of electrical power and for the power in some ships. This is usually accomplished by methods that involve using heat from the nuclear reaction to power steam turbines.

The physics of operating a nuclear reactor is explained in Nuclear reactor physics.

Just as many conventional thermal power stations generate electricity by harnessing the thermal energy released from burning fossil fuels, nuclear power plants convert the thermal energy released from nuclear fission.
The energy released in the fission process generates heat, some of which can be converted into usable energy. A common method of harnessing this thermal energy is to use it to boil water to produce pressurized steam which will then drive a steam turbine that generates electricity.

The New Audi A4

Despite being a longtime top seller in Europe, the Audi A4 has historically trailed a distant 3rd behind those other German automakers' compact luxury sedans in the North American market. The folks in Ingolstadt are hoping to change all that with the newly redesigned 2009 Audi A4.

The new A4 sedan is nearly 5 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the previous model, which yields more headroom, more shoulder room and an additional 1.4 inches of rear knee room, as well as class-leading trunk space. Also new on the A4 this year is a pair of direct-injection engines -- the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an available 3.2-liter V6 (sedan only). The 2009 A4 additionally offers a plethora of techno-gadgets, including radar-based adaptive cruise control, a new park distance control system and revised controls for Audi's Multi Media Interface (MMI) system.

Driving enthusiasts will appreciate that the drivetrain's AWD layout has been adjusted to improve weight balance for better handling. In addition, the optional Drive Select system permits the driver to adjust ride compliance, steering effort and shift response -- there are three different preset modes as well as a personalized mode where you can mix and match settings.

Of course, the 2009 Audi A4 faces stiff competition, such as the more engaging BMW 3 Series, the affordably priced Infiniti G37 and the solidly built Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Since the convertible A4 is a carry-over from the previous generation, we'd definitely hold out for the upcoming A4-based A5 and S5 convertibles. But for those in search of a good-looking and sharp-handling compact luxury sedan or wagon with AWD and the latest technology features, the 2009 Audi A4 is a solid choice.
